These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Film Mate mobile application ("App") operated by Film Mate ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Acceptance of Terms
Your access to and use of Film Mate is conditioned on your acceptance of these Terms and our Privacy Policy. These Terms apply to all users of the App.
2. Description of Service
Film Mate is a utility app that helps you apply a screen protector without accidental touches. When activated, the App:
- Displays a pure black, always-on screen
- Blocks single-finger touch input during installation
- Allows you to exit by holding two fingers on the screen for 3 seconds
The App is designed for iPhone and iPad running iOS 14 or later. Features may vary by device.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Film Mate. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement and that your use complies with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction. Film Mate is available on the US App Store and other international regions. It is not available in mainland China.
4. Purchases and Payment
Film Mate is offered as a one-time purchase of $1.99 USD through the Apple App Store. There are no subscriptions and no recurring charges.
- All payments are processed by Apple, not by us directly.
- Prices may vary by region and are displayed in your local App Store currency.
- Refunds are handled by Apple according to Apple's refund policies. Contact Apple Support for purchase-related issues.
- Purchasing the App grants you a license to use it as described in these Terms, not ownership of the software itself.
5. License
Subject to these Terms and your payment (if applicable), we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Film Mate for personal, non-commercial purposes on devices you own or control. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the App except as permitted by law.
6. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the App or its related systems
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App except where expressly permitted by law
- Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the App or any part of it
7. Intellectual Property
Film Mate, including its name, logo, design, and software, is owned by Film Mate and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding except as needed to use the App as intended.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
Film Mate is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will prevent all accidental screen interactions on every device.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Film Mate and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim related to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $1.99 USD if no payment was made.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the App. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law) will survive.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware, except where applicable law requires otherwise. If you are located outside the United States, you are responsible for compliance with local laws.
